Brief Explanation

Is White To Red A Common Kitchen Cabinet Color Change?

Most cabinet painting projects tend to involve the transition from regular, brown oak-colored cabinet colors to a more modern washed-out white.

This is a great transformation for virtually any living space, but if the conditions are ripe, then it's possible to push this edge even further.

In a recent case with a customer local to the Peachtree City, GA area, we actually took their already sleek-white kitchen cabinets and took them to the next level: a deep, resonating red.

This was honestly one of only a handful of projects which we've done that have involved such a radical color transformation, but we were honored to have a part in making this initial concept a reality.

F.A.Q

1. Can Red Cabinets Work Anywhere?

Answer:

While it might be nice to imagine a world in which red kitchen cabinets could always work, the sad reality is that they're not a one-shot, perfect fit for all places and spaces.

This specific customer's kitchen area already had several aspects to their space which were working in their favor and was thus able to pull off such a bold color choice.

To start with, their entire kitchen space was close together. Separate and segmented bright coloration can work in some instances when it comes to home decorating, but cabinets rarely tend to fall under such an occasion.

Next, their kitchen was fairly neutral to begin with. No bright purple backsplash, no tie-dye tile flooring, nothing too crazy or forced. If there's ever a space in a home where semi-neutrality can come into play, the kitchen is perhaps the best example.

And finally, the most important aspect to take into account when choosing new bold cabinet colors such as a deep red, their appliances complimented each other.

No stainless-steel mixed with a white microwave, or a beige range with a yellow fridge. Their appliances were all-black, all the way, and this works seamlessly with their new deep, bright red kitchen cabinets.

2. How Soon Can We Give You A Quote?

Answer:

Quick Answer: As soon as you call we can schedule you in.

3. Is It Time To Repaint Your Kitchen Cabinets?

Answer:

While that's rather a more personal decision that we don't recommend you make on a whim, we've definitely seen many a kitchen transform simply from being under our brush, and it truly is an awe-inspiring sight to behold.

After your cabinets are painted, they'll become a tremendous small-talk subject of interest for you to bring up time and again.

Additionally, they'll help to level out your aesthetic prowess and change the overall pace and feeling of your kitchen for good.

But most interestingly of all, having your cabinets painted can often amount to increases in your property's overall value and net worth. And that's just more money that's going right back into your pocket at the end of the day.

4. What Types Of Paints Are We Familiar With?

Answer:

We use many different varieties of paint based on the projects that we're working on at the time. Interiors, Exteriors, Epoxies, Primers, we're experienced in using them all.

Additionally, we always take into account the overall objectives of our customers and do our best to meet your needs with the very best available colors possible.

We've painted with just about every brand and color of paint that's out there. So by this point in time, we know which ones rock and which ones tend to flop.

* * We've even used the specially "Trademarked" blue color used for Best Buy in Peachtree City. If you've ever seen that store before, then you've already seen some of our superb quality painting abilities. * *

5. Why Is Pre-Painting Sanding Important?

Answer:

Don't worry, we don't power-sand cabinets or purposely try to take away all hints of their previous color. Rather, a little light pre-sanding is a key process that few often think of when getting their cabinets painted.

What this sanding phase does is it helps to remove all of the excessive, grimy grease and oil that builds up on your cabinets after a long period of time.

By sanding your cabinets before painting them, this gives the wood a more textured surface which better allows for optimal adherence for both the paint and primer to stick to and stay on the surface of the wood.

So don't freak out if you see us whip out a palm sander and starts going to town on your kitchen drawers. Just trust that they're going to look much better as a result, and they will for sure.
